Beer on the Pier: Seaport Beerfest 2009
There is nothing that quenches the summer thirst better than a beer from a local microbrewery and Seaport Beerfest has proven this over the past two years. Seaport Beerfest is a celebration of beers brewed here in the Maritimes. Last year over 1500 revelers sampled the brew of 45 breweries and cider houses.
This year, on August 8th, Seaport Beerfest is partnering with the organizers of the Taste of Nova Scotia and adding over 140 international brands of beer to be sampled. In addition the designated Taste of Nova Scotia restaurants will be selling delicious local fare such as:
- Atlantic seafood sausage made from haddock, scallops, salmon and cold water shrimp from Scanway Catering.
- Pulled-pork sandwiches from The Port Pub Bistro in Port Williams,
- Yarmouth’s Rudder’s Seafood Restaurant and Brew Pub will feature fresh haddock fish cakes with chow-chow, chocolate covered popcorn and chocolate covered pretzels.
This year the organizers have planned for over 2000 people along with 65 breweries from the Maritimes and Ontario.

Seafood sausage? Never heard of it but sounds good. Will try to find some unless it’s only a local thing.
