“It is a place of connection, where you can participate in challenging experiences with your friends and family, and meet with people who share your passions.”

i32There are not many places in the world where you can enjoy a tranquil ocean setting and have the option of all the comforts of home in a spiritual atmosphere. But Cabot Shores on Cape Breton Island has accomplished this delicate balance with four chalets, a lodge, 55 private acres and 2,000 feet of bold Atlantic Ocean. In addition the area is on the edge of the Indian Brook and French River Wilderness complete with waterfalls.

Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort & Spa is the full name of this beautiful spot. Many of its satisfied clients have dubbed it as  “a place to get away, recharge and rejuvenate. And Cabot Shores makes no false claim when it offers you a chance to experience a life-altering  adventure.

Cabot Shores is also a place for both yoga and bird-watching. There is also amazing food and artists, canoe and kayaking adventures and holistic and experiential learning. In addition it points to the Buddhist area of the Kalapa Valley and the Gampo Abbey, and to Alexander Graham Bell’s vacation home and the beautiful museum dedicated to the inventor  in Baddeck. And let’s not forget the great golf courses, ski slopes and hiking trails of the world-famous Cape Breton Highlands.

The chalets are situated amongst the trees and well spaced for privacy. They can accommodate 2 to 8 people and each has a living room, kitchen and dining area, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and porch opening on the Atlantic. The kitchen is fully-equipped (fridge, stove, utensils) and each unit has ceiling fans, electric heat, and a TV and VCR.

The lodge itself combines comfortable bedrooms and suites with private bathrooms with a great common areas. The menu is organic and there are musical interludes throughout the season.
