Here is a list from Destination Halifax of 8 upcoming events in Nova Scotia.

1. 2009 Canadian Navy—100th Anniversary (July 2009-2010) 18 months of events celebrates 100 years of service with naval parades, concerts, fireworks, and a display of warships.

2.  2009 ICF World Canoe Sprint Championship on Banook Lake (August 12-16)

3. 2011 Canada Winter Games (February 11-27, 2011) Halifax is proud to host the Canada Winter Games in 2011, featuring 20 sports over 18 days.

4. 2012 Titanic 100 (April, 2012) Halifax will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth and sinking of the Titanic 1912-2012.

5. 2009  25th Anniversary of Nova Scotia Multicultural Festival (June 2009) – 2009.  This is a two-day event of performances, food vendors and visual displays.

6. 2009 TD Canada Trust Atlantic Jazz Festival (July 2009) Over 450 local, national and international performers takes place in various venues around Halifax .

7. 2009 Halifax International Buskers Festival<(August 2009) The largest outdoor festival in Atlantic Canada where “street theatre” entertains up to 450,000 locals and tourists.

8. 2009 Atlantic Film Festival (September 2009) The Atlantic Film Festival is held in Halifax every September. There are strong East Coast film makers with added embellishment by great music.
