Nova Scotia Comes Alive in 2011!

There are few places that top Nova Scotia in the summer and fall seasons. Unlike the west coast of Canada Nova Scotia has more sunny days and better beaches. Not only that, you are never further than 40 miles from salt water no matter where you go in the province. Keep checking back to see updates on the state of travel in Nova Scotia and why this Canadian province is considered one of the finest destination spots in the world.

Highway7.com Captures the Eastern Shore Spirit

Submitted by Kim on Monday, 9 February 20094 Comments

7logo2Nova Scotia has many websites dealing with the different areas of the province. Highway7.com is an Eastern Shore online magazine that captures the activity and spirit of this beautiful part of the province. From it’s beginnings at the end of Dartmouth’s Main Street Highway 7 meanders its way up some of the most picturesque areas in all of Canada. Now there is a site dedicated to sharing information on this area.

From angling to Romantic getaways you’d be hardpressed to find another site with so many links to hundreds of tourism destinations not only in the Eastern Shore area but in the rest of the provinces as well. And like many other burgeoning tourism sites they have their own Facebook group called Highway 7 Online.

The main thing I like about this site is that it allows you to plan a whole Nova Scotia trip. Of course the emphasis is on the Eastern Shore and the writers, Gail Martin and Jurgen Teuwen, have included over 400 articles describing life on this coast as well as illustrating it with thousands of photographs.

For up-to-date information you can also subscribe to their newsletter. They also invite story ideas and links for places they may not have mentioned.

Now if I have question on any place up that highway I have a site that may have the exact answer I need.

Great post, Kim. We like Highway 7 as it gives people a look at the authentic Nova Scotia and let’s folks know the Eastern Shore continues right up to Cape Breton so people don’t miss the fabulous views along Chedabucto Bay. We’d like to invite people to join the Authentic Seacoast Resorts Facebook page or visit the Authentic Seacoast 101to learn more about what’s happening on Chedabucto Bay.

Kim: Thank you for the excellent article. I’ve reciprocated on Highway 7 Online.

Highway 7 will celebrate 14 years online in 2009 and for the most part, it’s a labour of love. We do love the beauty and tranquility of the Eastern Shore!

If you should have any questions, feel free to email us, as many do. Most common questions? “Can we get married on a beach?” and “When is the Clam Harbour Sand Castle contest”? Great work, Kim.

    Best, Gail

My pleasure Gail. You have a great site. It’s been 14 years? Wow you must have been around in the Netscape Composer days! Keep up the great work!
