Oak Island Resort

As long as there have been stories of pirates there has been the legend of Oak Island and the gold that supposedly buried there. Many attempts have been made to find the treasure which, if ther, has been cleverly buried in a labrynth of puzzling layers. In fact a few people have been killed attempting to collect it.

Oak Island Resort overlooks the old site with 107 oceanview rooms and 13 seaside chalets. Built as a place to enjoy the western shore of Nova Scotia it has blossomed into a fully-functioning resort with over 8,000 square feet of meeting space. For business purposes the facility offers full audio-visual services, wi-fi access and custom catering for up to 450 guests or intimate gatherings of just a few.

In addition, there are pre and post convention offerings like deep-sea fishing, island picnics, and live entertainment. As well custom charters can be organized from the private Marina. For weekend getaways there are theme weekends like their famous “Murder Mysteries,” where the patrons participate in a “who done it?”

One of the innovations of the resort has been the spa facilities. Complete with massage area, fitness center, swimming pool and hot tubs the place can be entertaining even when the weather outside if frightful. The full service spa allows you to choose from a wide variety of treatments such as a relaxing Ocean Stone Massage, an Age Defiance Facial or a Detoxifying Body Treatment.

The full-service spa is just the start of a healthy experience at Oak Island Resort. Enjoy the indoor or outdoor pool (seasonal) and hot tub, relax in the sauna, or workout in the fitness center. Experience nature with a hike through one of Oak Island Resorts’ beautiful seaside trials.

This fabulous place is juts 45 minutes from Halifax and an hour from the Halifax International Airport.  Sea kayak among Mahone Bay’s 365 islands or take a side trip to Kejimkujik National Park. Take a hike or a boat tour or go golfing. World-famous Peggy’s Cove and the historic town of Lunenburg, one of Nova Scotia’s most popular tourist destinations,  arejust around the corner.
