Ann Murray Centre
I’m not a great Ann Murray fan but I do like her style. She is a smart cookie and a great ambassador for Nova Scotia.
She started out on a CBC Haifax program Sing-a-Long Jubilee while studying to be a PhyEd teacher and broke out with the big hit Snowbird in 1970
The Anne Murray Centre, in Springhill, Nova Scotia shares the incredible story and accomplishments of superstar Anne Murray. Anne grew up in this small town renowned for its coalmining history and rose to stardom from her humble roots. Her father, Carson, was a doctor in the town.
She has amassed more musical awards and accolades than almost any female singer in history. At the Anne Murray Center you can see, firsthand, the incomparable mix of awards, photographs, memorabilia and audio-visual highlights of Anne Murray’s life and career.
The Centre also features a series of award winning, three dimensional displays and an on-site gift shop including special souvenirs, tapes and CD’s unique to the Centre. Also on hand you will find prized Nova Scotian crafts.
