Savour Food & Wine Festival in Full Swing

Submitted by Kim on Tuesday, 5 February 2008No Comment

Today marks the 5th day of The Savour Food & Wine Festival, a month-long celebration of Nova Scotia’s culinary creations and amazing libations.

“How many people can say that February is their favorite month of the year?” says Gordon Stewart, executive director of the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia (RANS). “When I look at this year’s line-up of festival events there is no doubt in my mind that the month will fly by . . . We have such an abundance of local talent when it comes to the food and wine industry in Nova Scotia,” says Gordon Stewart, executive director of RANS, “Savour is a great way to showcase that talent. The consumers’ choice awards are an important part of the food and wine show because our business is consumer driven… the exhibitors get very creative and competitive about the Best of Show Awards!”"

In its 5th year, Savour is the biggest food and wine festival east of Montreal. It includes 32 events across the province, the second annual Dine Out Nova Scotia program with 36 restaurant participants, plus the main Savour Show featuring over 60 RANS exhibitors.

From internationally themed dinners and culinary weekend get-a-ways to the first ever ice wine festival and gourmet cooking classes, the Savour Festival is an exciting four weeks of winter for food and wine enthusiasts.

For reservations, a complete list of events happening in February, detailed menu options for Dine Out as well as information about the main Savour Show on February 28 at the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel, visit eDining.ca and click on the Savour logo.

The Savour Food & Wine Festival is presented by the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia. RANS was established in 1947 to positively affect change by identifying and addressing relevant issues to improve the operating environment of the restaurants and food service establishments in Nova Scotia.

The Westin is offering a special Savour package for $199 plus tax. The rate, for two people, includes one night accommodation, two tickets to the Savour Show and parking. Rooms should be booked no later than February 14, 2008 and reservations can be made by calling (902)496-8585.
