Rossignol Surf Shop

Submitted by Kim on Saturday, 11 August 2007No Comment

Jeff Norman decided a few years back to parlay his love of surfing and sea kayaking into a full time occupation. From his home in Port Joli, twenty minutes south of White Point Beach Resort Jeff and his wife, Darlene, bucked the odds and built a first-class surf and kayak shop in their home.

A few years later they teamed up with White Point Beach Resort and ran the boathouse, renting wet suits, biked and kayaks. On May 19th, 2007 they revamped the top floor of the boathouse for their own shop which will be open weekends only in May and June (open daily in July and August) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The new location offers a wide selection of products and accessories for the surfing enthusiast including souvenir ‘Rossignol Surf Shop’ sweats, t-shirts and hats.

And how about surfers? Custom ordered surfboards along with factory-made models (including Nova Scotia made, ‘Otherworld’ surfboards by Scott Forbes) show Rossignol Surf Shop’s commitment to providing equipment for a wide range of surfers. Short-boards, fun-boards, long-boards, (and a variety of epoxy boards) suit the desires of surfers – be they a beginner or a seasoned pro. In addition, the shop also has a good supply of new youth, women’s and men’s wetsuits from manufacturers such as Excel, O’Neill and Rip Curl. There are also dozens of boots, gloves, leashes and board & suit maintenance products.

What if you don’t know how to surf or kayak? Well, Jeff offers surf lessons, surfing camps and clinics for the inexperienced and well-seasoned wave seeker to learn to surf.
