White Point Beach, Nova Scotia

Submitted by Kim on Monday, 6 August 2007No Comment

The community of White Point Beach is located just outside White Point Beach Resort along Nova Scotia’s South Shore on the Lighthouse Route. Located midway between Halifax and Yarmouth along the Atlantic Coast, White Point is 152 km (95 miles) southwest of Halifax. For the ones who want to get there in a hurry provincial Highway #103 serves as the main corridor through the South Shore. However, the Lighthouse Route (Rte 3) offers a more scenic and coastal drive through a number of quaint and historic communities.

Ten minutes away is the Town of Liverpool, “Port of the Privateers”. Liverpool serves as the areas center for services, shopping and amenities. Despite its size Liverpool has comprehensive health care facilities and professionals; schools; museums; a theater; several recreation facilities; a variety of restaurants and a wonderful waterfront.

There are 4 beaches within a fifteen minute drive. The first is a long crescent-shape of sand belonging to White Point Beach Resort. Five minutes south is Hunt’s Points Beach, with its quaint fishing wharf protecting another sandy beach. Then minutes further away is the long expanse of Summerville Beach. Finally, in the community of southwest Port Mouton is Carter’s Beach which, with its azure water, resembles a Caribbean cove.If you drive fifteen minutes north of Liverpool there is Beach Meadows.
